Kaspi — Design System

As a Design Systems Architect at Kaspi, I took ownership of the design system infrastructure: tooling, token architecture, and scaling across products.

Key results from the first 6 months:

Tooling & Automation

• Set up Code Connect — a pilot pipeline linking Figma components to their code implementations.

• Developed three Figma plugins: Screen Numbering for design handoff, Design Validator for automated review, and Tokens Hub — which fully replaced the third-party Tokens Studio.

• Integrated Claude AI into the team workflow: reduced dependency on developers for codebase questions, accelerated component prototyping and documentation.

• Launched AI-assisted component code generation, bridging the gap between design and development.

Token Architecture & Scaling

• Leading the onboarding of new products to the design system, including one of the most complex services in the company.

• Rebuilt the color architecture: designed a unified abstract OKLCH palette for all products, replacing fragmented per-product color tables. Automated export via a custom plugin — previously 6 files had to be updated manually.

• Refactored typography tokens and automated their export. Previously, adding a single new style required manual entry across 25+ token collections.

• Extended the brand typeface Roboto Flex Kaspi with new custom glyphs to cover product-specific needs.
